Yeah dramatic stuff will happen in this series from time to time, but it’s going to remain “grounded” drama. No apocalypse-level stuff or a shitload of people dying or whatever. We’re aiming to keep things light and silly for the most part with serious stuff sprinkled in.
I can’t say we’ll NEVER do something “big,” but it would be a different kind of big. Emotional life event big, not “everyone’s butt explodes” big.
That’s reassuring for me, personally. I’m liking the current thing you’ve got going on here, reminds me of Jojo’s part 4, or Persona (though I’ve never really played those games). Slice of life stuff marked by brief moments of character drama and weird supernatural events that won’t necessarily be fully explored and expounded upon (like the weird face tree, the timber wolves, the ghost factory). I’m excited for what future pages may bring for Pasqualo!
It’s really heartening to read that. When we were starting PFM I knew going into it that some people would be disappointed by the lack of a big epic “thing” to center the story around, and it’s nice to know that for some people that’s a positive. Thanks for the comment!
I too really dig the slice of life story with sprinkles of supernatural events, for what it’s worth! The characters are all fascinating and appealing, I love the drama mixed with humor, which is so true to life.
While It hurts!! was fantastic and I will always cherish the story and its characters and how it never put the breaks on reality just falling apart, this kind of story is also near and dear to my heart and I appreciate this collaborative effort being a thing that exists and I get to read.
I just realized. It Hurts had a whole story arc where Tubsy was sent to prison, and shortly after everything went to shit in comic 100.
Now we have Please Forgive Me, which has a story arc where Allison gets sent to a mental hospital. And we’re at comic 91.
Please don’t tell me that we’re going where I think we’re going.
