Well the blogging craze and youtube both made print tabloids obsolete pretty much overnight, and most serious newspapers just can’t compete with the higher margins and broader reach of internet news sites.
It’s also a bit of an exaggeration to say that print media is outright dead. Printed material with high production value is still always more appealing than just about any website’s presentation, and thus some magazines and the larger newspapers are still going strong. Granted, this is due in no small part to their significant online presence, but there’s still a certain prestige that comes with a tangible product.
Queue in the next episode opening with a comic style reference to the “Bouken desho, desho” intro and the “Hare hare yukai” ending from the freaking melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya performed with the PFM characters instead.
Hoo boy, can’t wait to see where this goes.
Also, guess this confirms Mark’s still alive. Rats.
But print media is not. When did that happen?? 🙁
