Missing sleep for 48 hours is known as extreme sleep deprivation. At this point, it’s even harder to stay awake. You’re more likely to have microsleeps.
You might even begin to hallucinate. This occurs when you see, hear, or feel things that aren’t actually there.
Other possible effects include:
depersonalization
anxiety
heightened stress levels
increased irritability
extreme fatigue
48 hours is extreme?
I used to do that shit all the time when I was either teenaged or unemployed.
It was the only way I’d be able to see the sunrise most of the time.
Trying for a 3rd day was difficult, but I made it to the evening before I started nodding off over my dinner.
Man I start nodding off in lecture if I get less than five hours of sleep.

I suppose the reason why she doesn’t want to sleep is to not have those bizarre dreams she had when that monster bear was about to end her and when she was laying on the grass and snoozed off.
Those dreams/visions are telling her something and she doesn’t want any of it.
I don’t get what the dialog in the first panel is about, unless Pasq is retelling the babysitter story? Is that the tragedy?
I think it’s an off-screen discussion of why Melanie is like that

Started It Hurts!! about a month ago and I’m now caught up with PFM! I love both and can’t wait to see where PFM is going.
