Aurora isn’t being destroyed by the gigantic laser. Pasqualo’s mom doesn’t seem like she cares, either. I think her goal was to provoke Aurora and triggering T̶h̶i̶r̶d̶ ̶I̶m̶p̶a̶c̶t̶ another murderous rampage.
She didn’t put the beacon on Aurora either. Whatever her objective, the means to her ends are in destroying Pasqualo. Possibly sending him to Satan or something.
She could have done that whenever, though, without much issue. For some reason it was important that she do this right now, right when Pasqualo met Aurora. Since we don’t entirely know what triggers Aurora into murdering everyone, it’s hard to know whether Jennifer intends to prevent or ignite another massacre.
There’s a very slim chance the beacon could even attach to a death angel of the apocalypse. Pasq is made of meat and circuits, so he can be tagged up no problem.
Last that we saw of Aurora, when she gets in heat the whole world catches on fire. So keeping her strung out may be a good thing.
