Katie appears to be a floating head in that third panel. Symbolic of her detachment from the rest of the world and her absent-minded assumptions of Pasqualo’s feelings? A scathing indictment on draconian work schedules that tax artists to the extent that they forget to draw necks? Who can say for sure.
Ah yeah. Fixed! It made more sense in the sketch, but you can’t see her neck behind that hair:
