Nope. This fight is gonna be longer than that. I understand your frustration though. When I started this saga I realized it was going to take a long time to tell the story I wanted to tell and that that fact might upset/frustrate people. Please understand that I’m not trying to piss people off on purpose.
More action scenes would make it more tolerable, even if there’s a lot of dialogue going on in the background. I got all excited about the arc and then a lot of the cool stuff ended up getting merely implied in between frames while people talked. It got better later on and that last page was fantastic in its silliness, but good lord nothing’s more frustrating than KNOWING an awesome fight is going on and then not getting to watch it because a bunch of other weirdos want to talk about uninteresting shit.
Ah yeah. I definitely see what you’re saying. With this comic, I’ve always wanted to make sure to keep silly goofy stuff in there even if it’s a very serious moment. Well, without giving anything away, let me say this: at this point in the story, we’re heading towards the conclusion. Moves are going to be made. I hope that in the end I pull off something cool. If not then either way I’m learning something. I do appreciate your patience.
I really enjoy the installments that are coming up and I hope you guys enjoy them too. I also hope that when this is over, people can re-read this chunk of the story and think, “That was fun.”
Personally I think this is the anticipation talking. The pacing between the overall final product (the comic when completed) will be a lot different than how it is now while we’re all waiting day by day every two days for the next installment. We don’t know the story right now, but you do. We’re reading it for the in-the-moment entertainment, while you’re trying to make a finished product. For that reason we’ll always be on slightly different wavelengths until it’s all finished. You’re not a professional comic artist/writer nor a tv producer, so it’s understandable that you don’t know how to expertly craft a finished product while balancing each comic’s progression so it provides consistent entertainment for the readers following it day by day.
With a 23 minute long episode of Breaking Bad, you have plenty of room to advance the main plot while making each episode provide new drama and fulfilling closure to make that week’s wait well worth it. But with a comic that ranges from 6 to 9 panels every two days, you can’t possible expect to make each page have the same entertainment on its own if it follows a large story arc. You NEED supplimental pages to provide information or comic relief, and while it will suck for those waiting days for it, it becomes clear when you’re powering through the whole thing when it’s finished.
Dude I had several actual panic attacks watching that show. Breaking Bad was NOT a good show for a person with anxiety to watch but I just couldn’t help it. It was sooo gooood.
After watching the season finale where they zoomed in on that plant, I had to stop watching episodes for the day so I could reflect upon what I had just seen. I don’t believe I stopped saying “HOLY SHIT. HOOOOOOLY SHIT.” for more than an hour that day.
Sorta, but Gob’s done a really good job of balancing the pacing for a live audience before. Even if most people are going to read this particular page in the archive, most people are eventually going to read the comic as it comes out. It’s actually one of the notable things about the comic, it gets shit done in a year that takes other comics their entire runs, I don’t want the comic to give up on making itself readable day-to-day.
Nice catch, it’s a good subtle touch. It’s only fair that Aurora begins in earnest to repopulate the world she so cruelly burned to ash. She’s got a strange taste in men though.
Tubsy still sporting that scalp.
im a little nervous as to where this arc is going
Dat crotch stain.
Nice form, a little rough n the landing. She may have to settle for the bronze!
So… Hellbeast is shaped like a Chupa-Chups?
Pretty much!
Well, shit.
Still, the Hellbeast keeps being awesome.
Poop’s on it, going for help.
“What’s that, Poop? Allison fell down the old well?”
Just because he’s disarmed doesn’t mean he’s without a leg to stand on!
Aw man, Hellbeast fucked up Ally’s stomach.
Mr Jones is gonna be so mad
I swear to god, Gob, you have 3 more updates to stop dicking us all around and kill the fucking Hellbeast already.

Thank you very much, sir.
For the record, my favorite episode of Breaking Bad was “Fly” where Walter and Jesse spent like an hour-long episode trying to kill a fly. 😉
Dude I was gripping my seat having a panic attack when Jessie was standing on the top of that ladder with the broom

I think a better way to put that is that webcomics are part live performances.
Oh and gob you’re still signing it “Gob 2014”
I drew this one in 2014. I think the 2015 comics start this week. 🙂
Oh god damn I just noticed Tubsy’s grabbing Aurora’s ass in the background.
That kid’s level of game transcends even through death into the mortal plane.
