Number 1. Easy.
I really, really enjoyed the intricate planning that went into the earlier strips. That was the whole draw of the comic, this shitty-looking thing that hides a surprising amount of depth and heart. It feels a lot less directed now, we’re not building up to anything like the mystery of Aurora. Pasqualo’s depression is getting interesting and a few major characters like Katie are seeing some actual development, but we’re in desperate need of plot hooks.
Yeah, I was always a fan of the more emotional moments. But that doesn’t mean the other one’s aren’t fun!
1 – 100, 101 – 132, 133 – 171, then the rest. All good, though. All so good.
I’d say 100-132 as that’s when IH shown that it’s really something else; then I don’t know. 201 – 224 and 269 – 317 perhaps, because I just like to meet all these absurd new characters.
Gob did something brilliant. It started out all cheery but off, but as time went on things went slightly and slightly more wrong until it just snaps during the talent show. It’s brilliant metaphor for depression, it stops being something that can be hid with goofy jokes and Pasqualo’s forced to actually deal with himself instead of having happiness handed to him by some made-to-order waifu. The story is stripped down to just Ally, Pasqualo, Aurora, and Katie, the only four characters that actually matter, and it’s brilliant for it. You could technically call it Cerebus Syndrome, but it’s not awkward in the least because Gob really planned this out and never stopped being funny.
My favorite part was all of Trisssh’s character development in which she stole my heart and replaced it with an erection.
Arc 3 because the ‘SHE WAS RIGHT’ faces. That’s all.
