I’m sort of impressed they’ve actually kept their word. I try the same thing but it’s so damn hard to let go of words like “bitch” and “cockmunch.” Defaulting to “fucking asshole” is the worst.
did you find yourself doing the same with words? like since your comic gotten more popular and that could mean all kinds of readers, did you reevaluate stuff like that? just a curious
My reasons are pretty much Pasqualo’s reasons in panel 3, minus all the sarcasm and uppity bullshit.
I wanted Ally and Pasq to use slurs in the first place to show that they’re immature idiots. Pretty much me and my friends when we were that age. We really weren’t racist or homophobes; we were just assholes being assholes to each other.
Thank you for spoiling this so I can stop reading here and not feel like I’m missing anything of value. I was going to recommend this to a couple of friends but the liberal overtones in some of the previous pages made me wary. Now I won’t have to look like a clown for speaking highly about some faggy webcomic.
“Liberal overtone”
Jesus dude. You don’t have to be petulantly ignorant to be an entertainingly shitty person. There are plenty of way more creative ways to be offensively humorous without having to resort to the blatant slurs, especially since they really don’t have much worth besides shock value.
Most of the people who do care about it who aren’t teenagers, are only doing so for their “image” (i.e. /b/tards) which is pretty fucking pathetic. It basically turns racism/homophobia into a shitty meme- and when anyone calls them out on it being generally just annoying/unfunny after the umpteenth time they assume they’re just overly sensitive.
I’ve continued reading past this point, but it no longer feels the same. A big part of what I loved about this comic was that you didn’t give a shit. Honestly, I don’t think of your readers did either (or do you really think people were offended by “faggot” and “nigger”?).
Anyway, since the comic largely depends on immature humor, it’s not as funny since the characters starting holding back on those words. They don’t even use “cocksucker” now. Really disappointing. 🙁

Ah you noticed!

Plus, there’s still racist and homophobic jokes after this point. They just don’t involve those particular words being used like every other panel.
I love that everyone missed the clear sarcasm on this post
Ah Ah Ah…you didn’t say the magic word….
