I wonder, now that Pasqualo has expressed that he feels humanity is monstrous, if perhaps certain things have been seen a little backwards. Katie, for example, seemed convinced that Aurora was the cause of the end of the world, but maybe that is only partially true. Perhaps deep down it was Pasqualo’s wish for everyone to die, and this wish was granted by Aurora because she loves him so much.
