Satan’s Satan, but is he an antagonist? In pre-Christian stuff, Satan was a loyal angel. Rather than being some evil monster designed to tempt mankind into doing evil he basically acts as an accuser, something that exists to question humanity and their choices. Something that’s meant to expose all your flaws. Pasq is doing an awful lot of self reflection on his flaws while he’s in Hell, isn’t he?
Also, Satan wasn’t joking, and his later comment wasn’t him apologising but him confirming that Verminous Matron is Jen. But this is all too obvious. Maybe… Just maybe, Jennifer is God, and is fucking up everything for Pasq for punching her in God Damn.
P.S. I know it’s crass, given the impact these pages are meant to have, but do ya’ think you could run me up the second to last panel for a reaction image? And, I’m really going to push it here, the full width panels of Satan laughing and Pasqualo saying “I’m being punished…” …In a banner form?
This is just like those dreams I have at night when I have to pee in real life but in my dream I have to pee, too, so I start peeing but then I can’t stop and everyone else in my dream is having a lot of fun and partying on a beach and just having a great time and I want to join in but I can’t stop peeing and I don’t want to pee on anyone or show them my dingus so I just keep peeing all night while hearing all the fun people are having in my dream until I get up in the morning and actually pee.
Gob I don’t know what kind of voodoo you use to allegorically narrate my life, but the metaphysical loss of privacy is completely assuaged by Pasq peeing right back on Satan.

I feel like there’s some kind of metaphorical significance to the peeing thing. Like obviously it’s a joke because Pasq is going through this self-evaluation and anguish and getting pissed on adds a whole layer of ridiculousness to it, but when he starts pissing on Satan as well, I feel like it’s symbolic of his decision to finally grow up and stop feeling sorry for himself. Life’s still pissing on him, but he’s not a victim anymore. He’s pissing back now.
Also, holy shit, the color change there. There’s always been a subtle connection between Pasqualo’s mental state and his hair/skin/eye color, but it’s never been this explicit or abrupt.
